Job Title: Psychiatrist – Geriatric Focus (Collaborative Agreements)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist licensed in Pennsylvania to provide high-quality psychiatric care to geriatric patients across a variety of clinical settings. The ideal candidate will also serve as a collaborating psychiatrist for nurse practitioners and physician assistants under Pennsylvania’s collaborative agreement regulations.

This role combines clinical leadership, direct patient care, and interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting the mental health needs of older adults while guiding advanced practice providers in delivering exceptional behavioral health services.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for geriatric patients (generally age 60+).
  2. Provide ongoing supervision and collaborative oversight for psychiatric nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants, in accordance with Pennsylvania Board of Medicine and Board of Nursing requirements.
  3. Maintain and review collaborative agreements; be available for consultation as required by law and organizational policy.
  4. Collaborate with primary care providers, social workers, therapists, and nursing staff to coordinate care plans.
  5. Participate in case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary meetings.
  6. Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  7. Stay current with developments in geriatric psychiatry and best practices in collaborative supervision.

Qualifications

  1. MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  2. Completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry; Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship preferred but not required.
  3. Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
  4. DEA registration in good standing.
  5. Experience working with geriatric and/or adult populations in outpatient, inpatient, or long-term care settings.
  6. Prior experience holding collaborative agreements with advanced practice providers strongly preferred.
  7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  8. Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and ethical clinical practice.
